…jet out to left

…jet out to left, then to right, then to center, they come together and the real transfer begins.  The feet are the last to come out of the skirt.  Moments of wind moving me forward and back horizontally.  Taking first breaths.  Moments of getting the rest of it off, grinning, crazy turns into blowing like ashes forward and back.  Ending standing up regrowing my skirt and swaying…

“What made you begin to think about Lincoln Luck?”

A question i’ve gotten recently…

“What made you begin thinking about Lincoln Luck?”

I am now certain that my first and foremost intention at the start of this process was to create a formula to produce Dance Theater.  My goal was to find a successful path towards merging, what i believe to be, two fruitful and potentially largely physical art forms.

In addition to the above statement and perhaps more destined was the fine day  I realized being in a performance with my father Actor David Browning was something that was undeniably in my path.  This is because it is something I aspired to explore and because my father is the kind of artist artist’s enjoy being surrounded by.

The second most important reason I began working on this show:                                                                                                               My long lasting interest in the idea of Luck and the role it plays in my life and the lives of those around me and in the lives of those I read about and in the lives of those I catch eyes with in crowded audiences, and in the lives…etc..etc…etc…  I daydream, possibly far too often, about the what if’s and the what will be’s.  I imagine the great possibilities and the great twists and turns one life has to offer it’s owner.  I imagine the coincidences and, above all, I’m grateful for the mystery and for every moment I have to explore.  I’m thankful especially for the moment within “Lincoln Luck” where Dad and I find our dance, where time graces us with our daydream.

With 13 days left before our opening performance, i’m imagining the possible paths that could lead us to that moment
